Home Screen Overview – E-Learning Module

The center panel shows drone connection status and system indicators. The right panel lets you switch between Auto, Manual, Lift Kit, and Survey flight modes.

This video provides a walkthrough of the J100 drone's flight settings menu. It explains key features including:

• Internal Battery Shutoff: Powers down the CPU battery to complete the drone shutdown.

• Headlights and FPV: Toggle front lights and FPV camera; quick-switch gimbal view.

• Intelligent Resumption: Automatically replans missions from the closest point after interruption.

• Sport Mode: Intended to enhance manual control responsiveness, though not typically needed.

• Remote Control Override: Switches from Superlink to direct RC control if Superlink fails.

• Compass Calibration: Used when compass errors occur.

• Radar Display Size: Adjusts how radar appears on the home screen.

• More Flight Settings:

  • Clear historical faults to reset safety lockouts.

  • Soft restart of the domain controller if CPU issues arise.

1. Intelligent Bypass
   Enables automatic obstacle avoidance (e.g., around trees). Slows the drone to a max of 32.8 ft/sec. Useful for complex environments but not recommended for most field operations due to speed limitations.

2. Intelligent Terrain Following
   Keeps the drone at a consistent height above the ground as terrain elevation changes. This is the LIDAR-based system and should always be on unless flying at a fixed altitude. Turning this off disables obstacle sensing completely.

3. Manual Horizontal Avoidance
   In manual mode, the drone stops automatically if it approaches an obstacle within a set horizontal distance.

4. Manual Vertical Avoidance
   Prevents vertical movement if an obstacle is detected (e.g., the ground during landing). If the drone won’t land, let go of the stick, disable vertical avoidance, and then land manually to avoid slamming the drone.

5. Speed Charts & Perception Heights
   Displays the drone’s max speeds in different scenarios:

   • All perception off: 50.5 ft/sec

   • Terrain Following on, Bypass off: 50.5 ft/sec

   • Terrain Following and Bypass on: 32.8 ft/sec

Key Notes:

• Terrain Following: Always ON

• Intelligent Bypass: Usually OFF (to avoid unintended flight behavior near field boundaries)

• Double-check perception settings before each flight

• Watch the flight screen for icons showing which features are active

Video 5. Spray Settings Walkthrough

J100 Spray Settings Overview

• Clear Trapped Air: Use this to prime the system if the drone has been sitting or recently cleaned.

• Clear Tank: Empties the tank by running the pumps on the ground—useful after spraying to flush with water or cleaner.

• Nozzle Configuration: Switch between 2 or 4 nozzle setups as needed.

• Flow Rate Calibration: Adjust if the drone isn't holding the correct spray rate. Modify magnification factors if too much or too little product is being applied.

• Tank Weight Calibration: Calibrate the tank scales by resetting the weight with the tank off, then taring it with the tank on. Recommended once daily.

• Ignore Water Pipe Errors: Bypass false air bubble or sensor errors if the system is functioning properly.

• Fixed Flow Rate: Set a manual spray rate and droplet size for ground or manual testing. Useful when stationary or troubleshooting.

• Spray Control: Choose between auto, manual on, or off modes for spraying. Auto allows the drone to control spraying during missions.

• Nozzle Configurations & Micron Scale: The J100 supports three nozzle configurations, each allowing different micron size ranges:

  • Standard: 10–150 microns

  • Top Atomizer Only: 90–500 microns

  • Large Top Atomizer: 130–620 microns

• Live Stats: Monitor pump usage, RPMs, temperature, and service life.

• Atomizer Monitoring: Check individual nozzle RPM, voltage, current, and temperature to diagnose performance issues.

Video 6. Spreader Settings Walkthrough

• Access spreader settings via the Auto mode > Top right settings > Spreader (below Spray tab).

• Clear Tank opens the gate to dump out remaining product.

• Spreader RPM allows manual adjustment. Use Max Speed to empty faster.

• Spreader Calibration:

  • Add a template (e.g., “Rye”).

  • Use manual mode (auto calibration coming in the future).

  • Fill the tank with the product to be spread.

  • Perform minimum and maximum flow rate calibration:

    • Set gate percentage and catch time.

    • Recommended: Max out catch time at low gate %, reduce at high gate %.

    • The system calculates calibration factors based on weight dispensed.

  • Use a catch container (like a mineral tub) and remove the spreader disc to avoid scattering.

  • Calibration can be customized (e.g., Clover spread with 10% min, 50% max gate).

• Tank Weight Calibration:

  • Lift tank off scale heads, reset, then drop back down to tare.

• Fixed Flow Rate settings:

  • Gate opening: 20–100%

  • RPM: 200–900

• Spreader control modes: Auto, On, Off.

• Includes settings for mixing speed, stirring voltage, and current, similar to DJI systems.

This spreader is nearly identical to DJI’s with only slight differences in calibration.

• Access the settings via Auto > Flight Screen > Top Right Corner > Remote Control Icon.

• Main focus is setting custom hotkeys:

  • Buttons include L1–L3, R1–R3, and B1–B2 on the back.

  • Hotkeys can be assigned to actions like:

    • Search light on/off

    • Full spray on/off

    • Corner spray

    • Record/cancel boundary points

    • Gimbal forward/back

    • Switch between map and FPV views

    • Route adjustments (left/right) in manual mode

    • Turn drone around

    • Manual horizontal/vertical avoidance on/off

• All hotkeys are fully customizable based on user preferences.

Video 8. RTK Settings Walkthrough

• Go to Auto > Top Right Corner > RTK Settings (below Remote).

• Choose your RTK source: NTRIP, SuperLink, or other networks like CORS.

• For NTRIP (e.g., DigiFarm, CORRS):

  • Enter IP address, port, mount point, username, and password.

• The middle section shows accuracy, number of satellites, and other connection details.

• If you're not using RTK, make sure the RTK source is set to “Disconnected.”

Video 9. Battery Management Settings Walkthrough

• Go to Auto > Settings > Battery.

• Automatic Low Battery Return: When enabled, the drone calculates when to return home based on distance and battery level, aiming to land around 30%.

• If manual return settings are used, you set a specific battery percentage (e.g., 20%) and choose whether the drone returns home or gives a warning.

• At 10% battery, the drone will force land, but you can still control it to steer to a safe spot before it descends.

• Voltage Settings: Set a custom voltage (between 46–60V) to trigger a return or warning. At 45.12V, the drone will also force land.

• Voltage Calibration: If CPU and BMS voltages differ, use alignment to sync them.

• Additional info includes: battery firmware, voltage per cell, temperature, cycles, amps drawn, remaining capacity, and serial number.

• Always monitor battery and voltage settings closely to avoid unexpected landings.
