EA Vision J100 Pre-Flight Checklist
-
Power on the drone and remote; ensure there are no error messages.
-
Unfold all arms and check for vertical play—tighten the nut if needed.
-
Secure the arm latches and confirm they have proper pressure.
-
Inspect the propellers to ensure they’re snug but move freely.
-
Verify that clockwise props are on clockwise motors and arms.
-
Use a clean microfiber cloth to wipe the forward- and rear-facing LiDAR sensors.
Perform this checklist before every flight to ensure safe operation.
How to Replace Props on the J100
There are two ways to replace J100 propellers:
1. Full Assembly Replacement
-
Remove all four screws with a 4mm Allen bit.
-
Replace both adapters, both prop gaskets, and both props as a single unit.
-
Use blue Loctite on the screws during reassembly.
2. Propeller-Only Replacement (Most Common)
-
Use a 5mm Allen bit to remove the two prop screws.
-
Be careful not to lose the lock washers.
-
Remove the top prop and inspect the top and bottom prop gaskets for wear.
-
Slide off the old props and install the new ones.
-
Replace gaskets if necessary.
-
Reinstall the screws with blue Loctite and tighten by hand.
-
Props should be snug—tight enough to stay in place, but still able to rotate with firm pressure.
Adjust each screw evenly to achieve proper tension.
How to Adjust Arm Locks on the J100
If the arm locks are too loose or too tight, use small channel lock pliers to adjust the threaded rod connected to the handle.
Make adjustments in quarter turns—small changes make a big difference.
Test the lock after each adjustment. For precise tuning, use a digital force gauge to ensure the lock force is within 10 newtons of 80 newtons. Set the gauge to peak and newtons, then pull the arm lock to check.
