Lesson 5 - Basic Boundary Creation & Editing

Video 1: Boundary & Plot Creation Screen Walkthrough

Alex from Agri Spray Drones walks through the basics of boundary and plot creation using the drone controller. He covers the interface, key buttons, how to name and set up a new field, and why making accurate boundaries is important. Topics include the difference between "in operation" fields and "demands," selecting landform types (which affect flight speed), and considerations for fields with power lines. Alex also explains crop selection, importing HD maps or TIFFs, and how boundary data is stored and synced. He ends with tips on importing external boundaries (e.g., from Deere or Ag Leader) and what to watch for when mapping around trees, roads, and other obstacles.

Video 2: Basic Mapping Walkthrough

In this video, Alex from Agri Spray Drones demonstrates how to create a basic field map using drone software. He covers setting up field boundaries, adding obstacles, and marking no-spray zones. The process begins with creating a new field and selecting a land form. Alex explains how to hand-draw boundaries by dropping points, adjusting points as needed, and fine-tuning their positions. He also covers how to add obstacles, including normal and circular types, and explains the differences between obstacles (which the drone avoids) and no-spray zones (which the drone flies through but avoids spraying). The video concludes with saving the field and the option to operate the drone immediately for spraying. Future videos will cover more advanced mapping features.

Video 3: Basic Circular Boundary Walkthrough

Alex from Agri Spray Drones demonstrates how to create and edit circular boundaries using the EAV J100 system, which simplifies mapping for tasks like spraying center pivots. He explains how to create a new field, choose a circular boundary option, and set the pivot center. Once the boundary is set, the radius can be adjusted based on the pivot size. Alex also shows how to add obstacles and no-spray zones, highlighting the ease of using circular boundaries instead of manually adding multiple points. He provides tips for precise alignment with the pivot's center and adjusting the radius for accuracy.
